Petrobras (PETR4) revealed a 14.5% decrease in the average price of aviation kerosene (QAV) for distributors starting in July. This reduction is equivalent to R$ 0.81 per liter compared to the previous month.
This marks the airlines’ second successive decrease in fuel prices, in line with international QAV rate slowdown following reduced geopolitical tensions in the Middle East, as stated by Petrobras.
Autumn is present in the global setting.
Petrobras stated that the decrease is due to changes in the global market, where aviation fuel prices have recently dropped.
The aviation kerosene adjustments are made at the start of every month based on the agreements between the company and the distributors.
Prices remain high in 2026.
The QAV price is still higher than the level recorded at the end of last year, despite the recent reduction.
The state projects a 40.5% increase in fuel prices by 2026, equivalent to a rise of R $ 1.39 per liter compared to December 2025.
Petrobras’ price is just one component of the total cost borne by airlines, which also encompasses taxes, distribution margins, and other elements of the marketing process.
